Monte Carlo has the pleasure of staging Gennady Golovkin's next fight (1st Feb) with a relatively unknown Ghanaian fighter Osumanu Adama (22-3, 16 Kos). There's hardly any footage of this boxer anywhere so can't really pass judgement on this guy's credibility, but saying that I have faith the babyfaced assassin will produce another brutal stoppage.

    Pacquiao vs. Bradley 2 - April 12th 2014

Bradley Signed a Bad Deal, he's the champ and coming off the best year of his career, #3 pound for pound in the world on some list and he gets 6 million and Pacman gets 20 million!!! And he had to resign with Top rank to get the fight....Bad Deal.......I know Bradley isn't a big draw, but he had leverage, he's the champion and Pacman doesn't have many other options other than the Russian Provodnikov, he could've held out for more money......$20M to $6M for the undefeated champion!!!

Gennady Gennadyevich Golovkin Gets TKO Win Round 7

Yet again the Kazakh boxer put on another impressive performance, outclassing his undefeated opponent by flooring the big Ghanaian puncher Adama three times. GGG's powerful right sent the Ghana boxer to the canvass at the end of the 1st round. A quick left hook took him down again in the 6th, Adama received an eight count for his troubles. Only to be put down again briefly in the 7th of a straight left jab and then finally eating a left hook which forced the ref to put a stop to the one sided fight towards the end of the 7th. This win takes GGG's record to 29-0 with 26 KOs. The 'Kazakh Knockout King' is closing in on a clash with an elite level fighter, many of whom are avoiding him. In the after fight interview Triple G expressed his desire to fight Sergio Martinez to prove who's the best middleweight.

British super-middleweight rivals Carl Froch and George Groves have agreed to a rematch, to take place at a football stadium on Saturday 31st May. The Cobra has been forced to give Groves another bite at the cherry, Chavez Jr. will have to set his sights on fighting somebody else from that weight category.

Chavez Jr. has decided not to wait for the outcome of Froch vs Groves and opted for a super middleweight rematch against Bryan Vera. The duo engaged in a no-holds barred battle last September, which emerged as one of the year

Busy weekend in the boxing world...

Unfortunately Ricky Burns lost his WBO lightweight title on a unanimous points decision to American Terence Crawford in Glasgow. Burns was quite humble in his defeat, made no excuses about his previous broken jaw injury affecting performance and said "The best man won." Straight after the fight Burns expressed his desire for a rematch to be arranged asap.

British heavy weight Anthony Joshua made light work of Hector Avila by knocking him out in just 134 seconds of the 1st round. This is the fifth straight professional win for Joshua. It's all good and well knocking people out early, but there's still a lot of scepticism as to whether he will be able to go the distance when it counts? The next potential opponent lined up could be Michael Sprott or Matt Skelton.

James DeGale successfully defended his WBC silver super middleweight belt against tough Dutch opponent Gevorg Khatchikian, stopping him in the 11th round with a fierce body shot. DeGale is hungry for a world title shot and believes he has done everything right to deserve one.

Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. unanimously outpointed Bryan Vern in their super middleweight rematch. Both fighters fired big blows and both absorbed great shots on their granite like chins, so much so that they both incurred hand injuries. Carl Froch and James DeGale have stated that they would like to fight Chavez Jr. next, althought when asked in the after fight interview Chavez Jr. said "Gennady Golovkin is a great fighter, a strong fighter and undefeated, one of the best in the middleweight division. I want to fight him next."

Aurthur Abraham's exacted revenge on Robert Stieglitz by winning back the WBO super middleweight title in a split decision victory. The clever strategy Abraham's deployed was to play it safe in the first few rounds allowing Stieglitz to punch himself tired and then counterattacking. He had Stieglitz on his knee in the final round, but couldn't deliver the crucial knockout blow.

Pacman vs Bradley part two- Twelve Round Points Victory MP

Came across this fight breakdown of the bout, shows alot of the tactics deployed by Manny in slow-mo which caused Bradley to fatigue. Like this new Manny...it only makes it harder for his opponents to prepare for him because they don't know if he'll come into the fight like this, or his semi-aggressive self...It opens a whole new set of doors. People saying this version of Manny can't beat Floyd, I'm pretty sure he'll have different tactics and have a combination of this new/old aggressive style, if Floyd ever says yes that is??? In a recent interview Floyd said that Manny won so he must be back on the PEDS, so it still looks like he doesn't want a piece of the slower Manny.

The old boy has added the WBA Light Heavyweight crown to his IBF title. He put on one hell of a performance by dominating his bout against Beibut Shumenov, Bernard Hopkins knocked down the 30 year old Kazakhstani in the 11th round, but he managed to last till the end for the judges to award a split decision points victory to 49 year old B-Hop. Hopkins improves his record to 55 wins from 65 fights, with six defeats, two draws and two no contests.

Shawn Porter powered his way to a title defence against British welterweight Kell Brook this summer after retaining his IBF belt with an impressive fourth-round TKO stoppage of Paulie Malignaggi. Brook is the mandatory challenger to the title held by Porter.

Scott Quigg made a statement as he retained the WBA super-bantamweight title with an emphatic second-round stoppage of South African Tshifiwa Munyai. Although Munyai was a late replacement, the South African was expected to be a test. Yet 25 year old Quigg dropped Munyai with a hard left hand in the opening round and referee Howard Foster Jr had seen enough and halted contest in round two when Munyai hit the canvas for a second time. Victory brings Quigg, unbeaten in 30 fights, closer to a world showdown with unbeaten Belfast contender Carl Frampton.

Anthony Crolla defended his WBO inter-continental title with a stunning 10th-round stoppage of John Murray. The pair, former gym-mates and still good friends out of the ring, fought an intriguing contest at breakneck speed but it was Crolla who had the gameplan to come out on top.

May 3rd 2014 Predictions: Mayweather to win on points, Broner win by way of KO and Khan to win on points.

The undercards compensate for the over-matched main event. This is the equivalent of 3 Showtime Championship Boxing (Non-PPV) cards stacked in one, so I can see how it justifies a PPV payment. If there's one thing Golden Boy does best, it is giving fans value for money. They always put stars on the undercards.

Khan looked good at 147, doesn't seem to have affected his hand speed or footwork. Full credit to trainer Virgil Hunter he's taught him how to box to his strengths intelligently.

Great news Kessler to fight again, plenty of good opponents out there like Froch, GGG & Ward. Should make the weight division even more exciting than it is now!

Former super-middleweight world champion Mikkel Kessler has announced he will fight again.
The 35-year-old last fought 12 months ago, losing a 12 round unanimous decision to British rival Carl Froch.
Reports claimed that Kessler, who recently became a father, was about to call time on his 16-year professional career which boasts 46 victories, 35 by knockout, with just three defeats. However, the Dane told a press conference in Copenhagen that he will continue his career in the ring and is targeting an October or November "big fight" return. Kessler, whose only other loses were to Andre Ward and Joe Calzaghe, also said he would like a rubber match with Froch should he defeat George Groves.
"I've thought a lot about whether I should continue my career," said Kessler. "I became a father and I have a life outside of boxing that I really appreciate. I've got a special responsibility, so it was not a decision I took lightly.
    Belief
"But I still feel I have something to prove. I hate to lose! And I lost my last fight against Carl Froch. Many thought that I would quit, but I owe it to myself and my fans to finish on top. My last performance showed that I still belong at the top and I know that my fans believe in me.
"I've talked with my team, the people around me, and they are ready to support me on the journey to become world champion again.
"I still have a desire for boxing. I still love to train, and I believe that I can become a world champion again. Now that I've made the decision, it's all in. I'm ready for all the big names out there. Whether it's Ward, Golovkin or Groves, I'm ready. A third fight against Froch, why not? I'll be ready for that too.
"I'm not rusty, but it's been a while since I've boxed, so a fight in October or November would suit me best. At that point, I'd like to have a big fight.
"Like I said; it's all in now. There is no turning back and I believe that I can do it. You don't become world champion five times, if you don't believe in yourself."
Promoter Kalle Sauerland added: "Mikkel Kessler has proven that he is one of the best boxers in the world, so it's not a comeback for me.
"In my eyes, he was never finished."

Juan Manuel Marquez proved there's life in the 40-year-old dog yet as he dominated Mike Alvarado over 12 rounds. The Mexican's victory sets up a fifth clash with famed rival Manny Pacquiao, but Marquez refused to commit. After three contentious decisions, none of which going Marquez's way, he iced Pacquiao in part four and the veteran believes that result should be the definitive chapter. Do fans really want to see a 5th fight between these two? Don't get me wrong each fight has been a war till the end, but a lot of the decisions going against Marquez have been dubious to say the least. There are a lot more dangerous and exciting characters knocking around that division now, which would be just as entertaining.
