Thanks to Papa Laz for agreeing to be interviewed this week. One of the old guard from MT who i've spoken to for a long time

Thanks to @Papa Lazarou for agreeing to being interviewed. He has been around for a long time now. Joined before me in fact!

Usual rules apply. Nothing personal or invasive but you should all know the drill by now

I'll start

1) What inspired to to take up Bodybuilding?

2) What is the proudest moment in your life?

3) What ambitions do you have outside of bodybuilding?

4) If you could change one thing about your past what would it be?

5) If money was not an issue describe your dream holiday.

6) Favourite boyband past and present?

1 - Arnie in Conan The Barbarian.  Saw that when pretty young and always wanted that kind of physique.

2 -  Marrying my wife, Yo and holding my daughter for the first time.   In no order.

3 - Move abroad, and open a gym in a place where the climate is hot year round, living by the beach.

4 - Sounds soppy as hell, but meeting Yo earlier.

5 - A few months travelling the world.  We love travelling as it is, so exploring the world would be amazing.  Walking through South America, diving with great whites (in cages!) in Oz etc would be amazing.

6- Linkin Park - both past and present (they were formed by the the label, as much a boy band as any other!).

What's your favorite and least favourite part of your body

Favourite muscle group to train and least favourite

Max bench, deadlift and squat and which of the three do you prefer

What's your worst training or non training related injury

F1 or Moto gp

Any other interests apart from training your ass off and looking awesome?

What's your favorite and least favourite part of your body
Chest is the area I regularly get asked "how do I get the split like you, looks great" and arms.  Prefer training chests so I guess thats my fav body part!

Calves are my worst.  No matter what I do, they won't grow and IMO look stupid compared to the rest of me. Hate wearing shorts but do so I remember to train them.

Favourite muscle group to train and least favourite
Love training to the likes of Rob Bailey, Staind and simply.   Cannot train to dance or anything - other than doing my head in, makes rep pacing harder to do.

Max bench, deadlift and squat and which of the three do you prefer
Bench is 182kg, deadlift was 282kg and squat was 260kg.  Never go near those numbers any more, not condusive to muscle gain.  Prefer benching out of all three.

What's your worst training or non training related injury
I have sacroiliac joint issues (due to a shunt in 2006/7 time).   Seemed only minor at the time but over the years seems to have weakend the area and unless i'm very careful, squatting and deadlifting becomes very painful.   Other than that, I seem pretty resistant to damage, have sometimes fallen and thought I should have broken arms or legs and just rolled.   Lucky I guess!

F1 or Moto gp
F1 by a mile.

Love travelling with my wife, and movies.   Not a movie buff by any means but love to regularly go to the flicks.    Eating meals out during off season is good too.

Thanks for the questions!

Lol I have a similar issue with calves, training them seems futile but necessary, definitely need something a bit dark to train too, I'm with you on the no dance music.

Ooooh an f1 lover.....I nearly didn't date my bf because he's a f1 fan, one lap is fine but they seem to go on for millions of laps.

What's your fave meal when your on off season,

Also, what would you recommend for a protein only breakfast (got a cut to make weight coming up so I may aswel ask) :)

I noticed you commented that your training style has changed a lot, do you still follow a volume system? (personally I have better results from HIT these days)

What type of diet works best for you when cutting? Keto, IF, ro-cho, something else?

Do you and your wife cut simultaneously, and if so, how do you and your wife deal with cravings and resist killing each other?

How much cardio do you do in general? What cardio do you prefer?

I recall you used to be strict with your sleep schedule in the past, have you maintained that discipline?

Any message concerning training, PEDs, or diet, that you wish you could send back in time to your past self?

I too have wondered this with many BB couples! Must be torture having broccolli when your partner is having beer and a kebab!

Not an F1 lover, but prefer it to bike.. yawn.

For fav meal?   I'm not sure really.  Not a massive foodie myself - normally a burger or something meaty - I don't really crave junk.   Probs because for a while suffered IBS and just didn't like hurting so stayed safe.  Love mexican food mind you!

Steak and egg is a great protein only breakfast - filling and plenty of good calories and energy as a result.

I'm don't care for junk much when dieting so when Yo is off diet and i'm cutting, it doesn't bother.   Yo can struggle so I keep my food clean whilst she diets so its not too hard on her - she has the genetics that will take her much further, I'm only too happy to help.   Can't love someone and not put them first :)

I still do volume but vary the reps and weight - 6-10 reps x 6 sets for each lift, 14-18 x 6 and 20-25.  Normally 5-6 to exercises (so a lot of volume).

I diet and bulk on high carbs these days.  We both work with George Farah so have become highly proficient working on them.   We also get our clients on them too and they give some pretty amazing results in next to no time!  I love using carbs, and gives a much fuller physique in my book and dieting down bar the last month or so isn't quite so hellish compared to lo carbing.

Cardio?  Is that Spanish?  Very little.  I'm naturally very lean so cardio is just a small tool we use for me.

Sleep happens when it happens these days - no set pattern.

Only message I would put to anyone that there is NO magic cycle, there is NO magic diet.  Just time and hard work.  I'm 260lb and in 3 weeks going back on cycle to push toward 300lb, but doses are always controlled and never insane.    Once or twice in the past I pushed doses 3g+ because people said that was where the magic happens etc - bullshit.   Very little extra happens.   Same with growth.

Just take your time, enjoy the ride.   Unless you have insane genetics, the process/road will be a long one.  Oh, use pharma GH, Chinese stuff is nearly all shit.

whats the best music to uplift you when down?

I don't have go to music.  Used to use Staind etc when I was down, and was my goto music but got a negative mindset doing that.  I snap out of it and move on.

Films?  Have a Cineworld card so just go see a new one ))

Doesn't sound a lot but each serving is huge.
